While there isnโ€™t much to do in Bimini during COVID, this is certainly a must see. Ashley Saunders began building this 3 story house in 1993 out of recycled materials throughout the island (think washed up beer bottles on the beach, excess construction materials from hotel & condo building, and lots of conch shells). Free access, but tipping is a nice courtesy.

Great history. Wonderful artwork. Inspiring. Easy walk from any marina in north bimini. In fact, by the beach access. The first time we came in October is was cous for covid, we just came back in April and had the best tour ever. Ashley is the artist, contractor and tour guide. Such a great stop. Well worth it. I live and was born in south florida. The growth over the years is heartbreaking. People in a hurry never smiling or saying hello. Families are not families anymore instead only people being greedy and taking. I'm 59 and my health is bad. I would love to visit Alice town and Dolphin house. Love everything I read about it but being wheelchair dependent and living on disability prevents my dream of coming there. God bless you for the joy you bring to peoples lives.

About Us

A Bahamian national treasure and landmark, established in 1993 and still under construction to complete the third floor, the Dolphin House Museum a Poem In Stone is a dolphin and ocean-inspired museum built over the last 27 years using recycled, salvaged and donated materials by award-winning Bahamian author, historian and retired teacher Ashley Saunders. A popular attraction visited daily (Mon-Sat 10am-6pm) by international travelers also offers a novel gift shop for souvenir purchases. Travelers to the DH can enjoy daily walking tours conducted by Mr. Saunders, who has written twoย history books on the Bimini islands in the Bahamas he was born and raised on. The DH is Bimini's most unique and artistic structure inspired by Mr. Saunders swimming with a pod of wild Bimini dolphins.ย

โ€œI consider myself a dolphin inspired artist, the dolphins touched my heart and made me an artist.โ€ - Ashley Saunders
